"I can do everything through Him who gives me strength". Philippians 4:13

The above passage is St. Paul's theme for the 2007 - 2008 school year.  Whatever needed to be faced or done, accomplished or suffered, the apostle Paul was confident that he could meet the challenge because he by faith was "in Christ" and so can we have that same confidence.  Christ's grace was sufficient for him.  Christ's power rested on him.  Christ himself stood by him, supplying his every need.  Paul was content because he knew the Lord Jesus was on his side.

We, too, can be content with whatever the Lord gives us, be it little or much as we have the assurance that because we are in Christ by faith, he is always there beside us to give us His strength He knows we need to cope with life in the world and to live our lives for Him.  Many Christian families have attractive plaques hanging in their homes inscribed with the words of Philippians 4:13.  I also have a plaque with those encouraging words in my office.  What a wonderful assurance they provide, an assurance that grows more precious and meaningful with every passing year.  May each of us take ownership of this passage in the upcoming school year because we can do all things through Him who gives us strength.
